In the last week the Kings played three games one of which was at home the other two were road games. Of these three games the Kings gathered three points. After the win against the Canucks the Kings fell to the Nashville Predators 2-1 in the shootout. Then they started their 5 game road trip (which is still happening) as they headed to Anaheim last Saturday. It was a crazy game, full of scoring and energy worth the rivalry. Though, the Kings lost to the Ducks 7-4. The following game against the Columbus Blue Jackets was an important one, the Kings need points and another loss would get them in big trouble. Fortunately, the Kings managed to beat the Blue Jackets 4-2. Tonight, the Kings will face the Nashville Predators, seeking a winning streak and more points that would push them up the standings.

After being benched at the early start of the season, Simon seems to be getting where the coach, team and fans want him to be. He’s been playing a solid hockey in those three games thus earning more ice-time and also promotion to the 2nd line (where he played alongside Richards and Carter in the game against Columbus). In the shootout loss to Predators Simon was credited with 4 shots on goal, which was the 2nd best on the team. Against the Ducks, he gathered two assists and also a plus-2 rating. To the win over Blue Jackets Simon contributed with yet another assist. He now has 5 assists in the last 5 games. Even though he’s still waiting for a goal he’s tied for the first place in team’s statistics.
